Mayor Michael Copeland
Michael Copeland is now serving his sixth term as Mayor of the City of Olathe. He was first elected Mayor in April, 2001. Prior to that, he served as an at-large Council member and Mayor Pro Tem, positions he had held since April, 1995.
He was first elected to the Olathe City Council in 1993 to represent Ward 4. Mike serves on the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the KVC Health Systems, Inc. Board of Directors, the Johnson County Community College Foundation Board, the Union Station Kansas City Board of Directors, the Johnson County Education Research Triangle Authority, the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Board, and the Kansas Hospital Authority Board.
He is currently on the Community Leaders of America Steering Committee, and past Chairman of the Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Council of Mayors. A graduate of MidAmerica Nazarene University, Mike is the 58th and longest-serving Olathe Mayor. He and his wife, Maria, live in Olathe with their two daughters, Olivia and Abigail, and son Joshua.
